"net.art generator. Programmierte Verführung/ Programmed Seduction" is a so-called 'Asian Edition' of the book with the same title, an artist monograph on the work of German net.artist Cornelia Sollfrank published in 2004 by Verlag für Moderne Kunst, Nürnberg.
During Marcos' reign in the Philippines, the 'Asian Edition' was a scheme to reprint American textbooks locally and without paying royalties to the original publishers. Marcos himself gave permission to do so with the famous Presidential Decree 1203. This decree has been eradicated in 1997, but pirated versions of books are still around, and the Philippine universities would cease to function if they would disappear.
The pirated version of net.art generator was produced as 'limited edition' of four – two bound in red and two bound in green faux letter with golden embossing – in 2006 during the conference 'Asian Edition.' This conference on Media Piracy and Intellectual Property in South East Asia was organised by Dr. Tilman Baumgärtel, professor at the Film Institute University of the Philippines.
